Three step:
1) cd .../pari; make etags
2) under emacs: M-x tags-search (or M-.)
   Tags search (regexp): zbrent
   Visit tags table: (default TAGS) .../pari/src

3) Redo M-. until you hit the zbrent definition.

Unfortunately 'make etags' is broken with exuberant-ctags version,
but works with the emacs20 one.
