I do not know what cause this, but you can ignore the errors:
what happens is that GP prints extra space when printing matrices.

Re the errors to be ignored:  Are you referring to the ones in  Olinux-x86_64/config.log?  What about the four "bugs" reported by "make bench"?

Maybe you have unexpected environment variables set.

(1) As a sanity check I installed 2.15.4 on a 4-year old laptop and another 10 yr old one (!), both running linux mint 21.2.  In both cases I have the same errors in /config.log, but in cases "make bench" does not report any "bug".

(2) Re environment variables:  I have sent along the output of "printenv".

(3) I notice that all the programs were compiled using -O3.  Would it make sense/make any difference if I try e.g -O2 instead?  How?  Any other compiling flags I might want to try?
