Thank you Bill, so correct me if I'm wrong, the code for somme is indeed in sumiter.c / paripriv.h but is used by the gp calculator and cannot be used in PARI library mode. Concerning gp2c i'm having the following error with Make : No rule to make target `missing', needed by `func.dsc'.  Stop. What could be the problem?

Note that the current prototype is (since about 10 years)
GEN somme(GEN a, GEN b, GEN code, GEN x)

There is no libpari version because it is easier to write it in C
directly. At worse, gp2c will do it for you.
