I catch up on the lists every now and then, but that's beside the point.
There are more than 11000 subscribers to my mailing lists; there have
been more than 13000 subscription changes in the past year. If I had to
deal with even a small fraction of those changes manually, I wouldn't
run the lists in the first place.

I wouldn't rate this as completely off-topic, since it might be
useful to find out sthing about the actual change which is wanted
by the majority of the subscribers.

Imho the Spam/Virus propagation here is so obvious that it is somehow
far from being an actual threat, even for Dos/Windows users which
will probably be a minority here.

And agreeing to permanent public archiving? isn't this taken for granted
anyhow? After all the public archives date at least to 1999. Seems close
to eternity ;)
