Problem with precompiled pari/gp for windows

Hallo,
i need a little help.
I may not type the power sign ( ^ ). So i have to type a command line like "a=2^110+1" into a file and read that file with \r. That is my main problem. A minor problem: cut and past does not work.
I use Win95 and pari version is:

                  GP/PARI CALCULATOR Version 2.1.3 (released)
                i686 running cygwin (ix86 kernel) 32-bit version
(readline v4.0 enabled, extended help not available)

An older version is without that problem:

                    GP/PARI CALCULATOR Version 2.0.17 (beta)
                  Windows NT ix86 (ix86 kernel) 32-bit version
(readline disabled, extended help not available)

(But this version not includes the bit manipulating functions i need)

What goes wrong ? Is there a workaroung ?
