As a point of information, PARI is built everyday with asan with gcc 8, see https://pari.math.u-bordeaux.fr/buildlogs/cd3f6a55-9aed-4853-93de-4c653a4e117e Later versions of gcc have an inconsistent behavior that leads to -ldl to be missed by Configure.
