A reply by François Morain concerning his more recent
fastECPP implementation, which he asked me to forward:

"ECPP Version 6.4.5 is very old and does not include the fast ecpp trick.

On an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3400+, fastECPP 11.0.5.alpha takes
respective time for 500 and 800:

tom.his1:# ==> Total time for the computations is 40.290000s
tom.his2:# ==> Total time for the computations is 149.770000s"
