2) The build didn't actually succeed; I had to hand-tweak it. There is a spurious "-Wl,,/usr/local/lib" in the 'ld' line that causes a hiccup:
ld: can't open: (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

I can reproduce this on a x86 with --host=unknow-darwin

It should be fixed. The generic example/Makefile had not been updated and was
overwriting sensible (empty) defaults.

I just updated, and I get this from Configure:

Extracting examples/Makefile.darwin-powerpc
Extracting Odarwin-powerpc/Makefile
./Configure: ./config/Makefile.SH: line 39: syntax error near unexpected token `*)'
./Configure: ./config/Makefile.SH: line 39: ` *) systems=;;'
Extracting Makefile
Extracting Odarwin-powerpc/paricfg.h
Extracting Odarwin-powerpc/../Odos/paricfg.h
Extracting scripts and macros
...in doc
...in emacs
...in misc

I think it's missing a second ";" on the previous line (at least, Configure doesn't complain with that change).

Justin
