The timeline has 2.7.0 released by the end of the month (though it may take longer). It's anyone's guess as to when Ubuntu will include that once released -- mine would be the release cycle after the release cycle following 2.7.0, or about a year from now.

What do you mean ?

After receiving you email, I tried to repeat the problem. While doing that I used Pi instead of the Tau=2*Pi; which I defined in my startfile.gp. I see that I needed to add the \p 100 before the Tau line or use Tau()=2*Pi. I am thinking the second one would follow the \p settings while the first will not.

Not in the stable release yet.

When do you expect the stable release with that to be available for Ubuntu?

Not in the stable release yet.

We should release PARI 2.7.0 really soon now, at least according to the PARI
